Empowering Perak: Highlights from the CSR OSH-C Event

Strengthening Our Community, One OSH Coordinator at a Time

At My SHEQA Group, we believe that a true tenet of a community is helping each other to grow. From February 10 to 12, 2026, our training room in Arked MARA Taiping was filled with a diverse group of professionals united by a single mission: making Perak’s workplaces safer for everyone.

A Collective Effort for a Safer Perak

This belief was the heart of our recent CSR OSH-C Event, where we welcomed 25 representatives from the emergency services, public agencies, and local industries that keep our region moving. It was a productive session where diverse sectors collaborated toward the common goal of workplace safety.

  • Public Safety & Defense: PDRM Bukit Aman, TLDM Lumut, and Angkatan Pertahanan Awam Malaysia (Perak State & Larut Matang dan Selama Districts).
  • Government Agencies: JKR Larut Matang dan Selama, Majlis Perbandaran Taiping, Lembaga Air Perak, and Pelancongan Kerian.
  • Industry Leaders: Onetexx Sdn. Bhd., EZY Engineering Works, HHC Auto BAHN, Green Excel Manufacturing, Imar Maju, and Edgenta Mediserve (Hospital Taiping).
  • Community & Hospitality: Novotel Taiping, Bukit Merah Laketown Resort, and the Kelab Kebajikan Buah Pinggang Perak Utara.

Empowering Leaders Through Shared Knowledge

Over three intensive days, we navigated the OSH C syllabus together. We focused on the essential pillars of workplace safety to ensure every participant returned to their organization with actionable skills.

The journey followed a structured path designed for immediate impact:

Day 1: Foundations & Legal Duty

We explored the reality of safety in Malaysia and dived deep into the OSH Act 1994 (2022 Amendment) to understand the specific roles and legal duties of an OSH Coordinator.

Day 2: Risk Management in Action

Participants engaged in hands-on HIRARC practicals, learning to identify hazards, analyze risks, and implement effective controls, alongside sessions on chemical safety.

Day 3: Productive & Safe Workplaces

The final day focused on the physical environment, covering workstation design, ergonomics, and machine safety, as well as welfare facilities and emergency action plans.

Looking Forward

This initiative focused on instilling occupational safety knowledge and skills into our participants. Seeing the commitment from teams like the Agensi Pertahanan Awam and our local industry partners shows that workplace safety is a goal we all work toward together.

As these 25 newly certified coordinators return to their organizations, they carry the practical expertise needed to protect their colleagues and support a safer work environment. My SHEQA Group remains dedicated to supporting the people who keep Perak running, ensuring that as our industries grow, our safety skills grow with them.
